This week on Americana Outdoors presented by Garmin, we’re bringing you coverage of the 2020 Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s National Team Championship! This year we’re hosting this great tournament in the city of Oshkosh Wisconsin!
The 2020 NTC is a three day, two angler team format tournament. Anglers can have up to six fish in the livewell, and can only bring their top five fish to the scales for weigh in. This year, we have 221 teams competing, and by the end of day two, only the top, “25 All American” will be moving on to day three to compete for the championship title! The first place winners will receive the grand prize of $25,000 plus a brand new Ranger 620! In addition to the first place grand prize, the top finishing Ranger Cup qualified team will also receive a brand new Ranger 620! The total cash purse for this event is $256,492, and with the time of year leveling the playing field for everyone, this is anyones tournament to win!

The Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s National Team Championship is considered the highest level of grassroots walleye fishing tournaments.  By hosting this prestigious event, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s invests in their customers, and by extension, invests in the future of the sport of fishing.  This event draws in the nations highest skilled grass-roots walleye anglers every year, giving them the opportunity to shine in the spotlight of national media attention.  This competition is fierce and the anglers know what’s at stake on the water. Over the last five years alone, the NTC has awarded anglers for their hard work and dedication with over one point two million dollars in cash and prizes!  To find out more about how you can get involved in local clubs and have a chance to be invited to the NTC, visit walleyefederation.com/cabelas-ntc

This event was originally supposed to take place in May, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, The Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau graciously worked with us to reschedule this event for our anglers in September! With this change of date, anglers were in for challenging fishing in September, and early on Anglers knew this would be a difficult tournament. By the end of day one, the bite proves to be tough for everyone, just as the anglers predicted. The leading weight going into day two is 9.02 ounces, and by the time day two wraps up, we have only a three pound difference between first place with seventeen pounds and third place with fourteen pounds! We’ve seen some drastic leaderboard changes over the first two days, and any one of the top 25 All American teams are capable of pulling off an upset and claiming the first place position! Tune in and find out which of our teams will be crowned the 2020 Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s NTC Champions!
