The Barnett Reservoir Rumble is the first Association of Collegiate Anglers event of 2022, and the second to last event of the 2021-22 season on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series before the year-end BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. Hundreds of the nation’s top collegiate anglers and teams are in Ridgeland, MS to compete in this two-day event. At the end of competition on Day 2, results will be finalized with the top teams being awarded over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies, as well as qualifying schools will earn double points towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.
The playing field for the Barnett Reservoir Rumble is Barnett Reservoir located in Ridgeland, MS. This 33,000-acre fishery has played host to numerous major professional tournaments in the past, and 2022 will mark the first time the Association of Collegiate Anglers has contested a nationally televised collegiate bass fishing event at Barnett Reservoir.
Barnett Reservoir is a vast shallow water fishery that will be primed for a great springtime event. Abundant shallow cover including rocks, timber, docks, and vegetation will be holding fish as they spawn or guard fry before settling into a post-spawn summer pattern. With an average depth of 12-15 feet, a majority of the elite collegiate field will be focused up shallow and along the fertile banks of Barnett Reservoir.
Tune in to watch Day 1 coverage and see which teams can set themselves up for a run at the title of the final day of competition!
