IHEA 2017 Cotulla Texas

We’re in South Texas at the Hixon Land And Cattle Ranch for the annual IHEA Heritage hunt, and the focus is all about hunter safety and getting the youth of America involved in the outdoors! Every year, the International Hunter Education Association employs 55,000 volunteer instructors who train and certify over 650,000 new hunters annually. Since 1949, near 40 million students have completed their hunting training courses, which cover firearm safety, multiple forms of hunting, land and wildlife management, and much more. Because of hunter education, hunting is one of the safest outdoors activities an individual can participate in.

Todays hunt marks the twenty fourth year that IHEA has hosted a hunt for three lucky youths, and two IHEA instructors. Our guests won this hunt of a lifetime by submitting their entry through Hunter’s Handbook after they had completed their hunters education courses. Watch as our youth participants take part in their very first hunts, and instructors proudly represent the International Hunter Education Association.
